How to Survive Valentine’s Day if You’re Single

Today I’m sharing some suggestions on how to survive Valentine’s Day if you’re single. While it can seem like everyone else has an amazing partner and you’re on your own, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun on Valentine’s Day.

How to Survive Valentine's Day If you're Single

While Valentine’s Day can be a lot of fun if you’re in a relationship, it can be a tough day if you’re not in a relationship. Today I’m sharing some tips on how to survive Valentine’s Day if you’re single.

Have a girl’s night with your besties.

This year Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday, so even if your best friends are in a relationship, they may not be doing anything their their significant others because it’s the middle of the week. Instead see if they’d be interested in having a girl’s night instead. Have a low key one with one person hosting and watch a cheesy romantic movie on Netflix and open a bottle of wine to share. Make it a fun night with your friends.

Practice self-care.

Spend the night at home taking care of yourself? Like baths but usually don’t have time to take them? Light a couple candles, put on a favorite playlist, throw in your favorite bath bomb, and enjoy some time to your self. Take an hour to do nothing but read your current book or a favorite one that you haven’t read in awhile. Spend some time meditating with the Headspace app and journaling. Go for a walk in your favorite park. Whatever it is that you enjoy and don’t do enough of, spend some time doing it on Valentine’s Day.

Cook yourself dinner.

I think we all have those meals that we absolutely love to eat, but we don’t make very often because they’re a lot of work. Splurge on yourself and make it on Valentine’s Day. Even though there will be a clean up needed afterwards, I find that making a dish that is a favorite of mine is so worth it.

Workout.

If I’m feeling a bit down, getting in a workout always helps to make me feel better. Endorphins are for real. If you have a favorite group fitness class, sign up for it to reserve your spot. Feel like zoning out? Get on the treadmill or elliptical with a great playlist. Or maybe you’re more in the mood for lifting heavy things. Whatever you’re into, schedule in some time to hit the gym and get your workout in.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Today I’m sharing a post about Valentine’s Day gift ideas. Whether you’re celebrating with your significant other or a group of your girlfriends, I’m sure there’s something on this list that you’ll like.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

To be honest, I never really used to liked Valentine’s Day. Either I was single or there was always a lot of pressure to make it a “perfect” Valentine’s Day if I was in a relationship. Either way it wasn’t much fun. Thankfully, over the last 5 or 6 years my perspective has changed and Valentine’s Day is actually fun. It might involved a night out with 5 or 6 of my friends for a girls night out or date night with my boyfriend.

I’m sharing some Valentine’s Day gift ideas today. I know I’d be happy if I received any of these things. It’s easy to go with the usual candy or chocolates, but putting a bit of time and effort into a gift makes all the difference. They vary from lip gloss, to a candle to a water bottle, so whatever your budget it, there’s something on this list that will fit it.

  3. Heart necklace (affiliate link) Super cute while not being too over the top, this necklace is the perfect thing to add to an outfit.
  4. Butter London Lippy lip gloss (affiliate link) If you’re anything like me, there’s no such thing as too many lip glosses.
  5. Slippers (affiliate link) Along with the throw, sometimes you need something to keep your feet warm around the house.
  6. Voluspa Prosecco Rose candle (affiliate link) It’s hard to go wrong with a travel candle when you need a little something to make your hotel room feel a but more like home.
  7. S’well water bottle (affiliate link) Just like with lip gloss, I always seem to be looking for a water bottle, so I’m always happy to have an extra one around the house.
